Falling Branch/Kilgore Falls Area
The Falling Branch area of Rocks State Park is located about five miles north of the main park on a separate 67-acre parcel of land. It is home to the 17-foot high Kilgore Falls, which is Maryland's second highest vertical drop waterfall. This non-developed, environmentally sensitive area has a serene hiking trail leading back to the waterfall.
Notice! Parking passes are now required to visit Kilgore Falls on weekends and holidays between May 25th and Labor Day. Passes become available for reservation on the Monday prior to the desired visit.
A parking pass is not required for weekday visits, but parking is first come, first served, and often fills to capacity.
Parking passes are not required before May 25th or after Labor Day.
