Know Before You Go

A vehicle admission pass is required on all motor vehicles stopping in state parks, forests and recreation areas. 12-month and daily vehicle admission passes are available for purchase through this website. The 12-Month State Park and Forest Vehicle Admission Pass is valid for 12 months from the time of purchase, with unlimited vehicle entry to all properties. The 12-Month Admission Pass must be completely attached to the inside driver’s side of the windshield by its own adhesive (inside lower left-hand corner). Passes are NOT transferable.

Once your purchase is complete, you will receive an email receipt. The email receipt serves as your proof of valid purchase. The 12-Month Admission Pass receipt is good for 30 days from the date of purchase. Your physical pass will be mailed to you within 30 days of purchase. If you plan to visit a state park before you receive your order in the mail, print your receipt and place it on the driver’s side dash of your vehicle so that it can be read through the windshield.

  • WI Senior (Age 65+) 12-Month Vehicle Admission Pass: $13.00
  • Non-Resident 12-Month Vehicle Admission Pass: $38.00*
  • WI Resident plus Reduced Rate 12-Month Vehicle Admission Pass Package: $43.50
  • Non-Resident plus Reduced Rate 12-Month Vehicle Admission Pass Package: $58.50*

Reduced Rate passes are for additional vehicles registered to the same household address. If you are purchasing an admission pass for a second vehicle for the same household address through this online service, you may purchase as a package with a full-price admission pass.

* Pass applies to vehicles with non-resident (out of state) license plates.

Once your purchase is complete, you will receive an email receipt. The email receipt serves as your proof of valid purchase. It is good for the date of purchase only. Please print the email receipt and display it on the driver's side dash of your vehicle while in the property. If you do not have a printer, on a piece of paper please write in large, printed letters the words "Your Pass Now Daily" with the order details provided on your receipt.

Annual Trail passes are required for all people aged 16 or older who bike, cross-country ski, horseback ride or inline skate on certain trails. A state trail pass is not required for walking or hiking and is not vehicle admission. Annual Trail passes are available for purchase through this website and are valid from the date of purchase through December 31st.

Once your purchase is complete, you will receive an email receipt and a confirmation code. The email receipt serves as your proof of valid purchase. Print the receipt or download the pass onto your mobile device. Links to download the digital pass will be provided in the email receipt. A physical pass will not be mailed to you. Wisconsin State Park System annual trail passes are non-refundable. Must be shown to a DNR representative upon request.
