Park visitors of all ages and interests will find Downs Park a pleasant and refreshing place to spend their leisure time. The park opens daily at 7:00 a.m. and closes at sunset.

Annual Pass - AACO Resident Valid for Anne Arundel County resident admission to Downs Park, Fort Smallwood Park, Kinder Farm Park, and Quiet Waters Park from the date of purchase through December 31, 2022. Admits the pass holder and occupants of a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to the park. $30
Annual Pass - Non-AACO Resident Valid for non-Anne Arundel County resident admission to Downs Park, Fort Smallwood Park, Kinder Farm Park, and Quiet Waters Park from the date of purchase through December 31, 2021. Admits the pass holder and occupants of a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to the park. $40
Daily Pass Admits the pass holder and occupants of a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to the park. $6
Daily Pass - Bus Valid for bus admission to the park for the day. The bus fee applies to all vehicles which hold more than 12 passengers. $30
Daily Pass - Handicap/Disabled Admits the pass holder and occupants of a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to the park. MVA handicapped tags or hanging permit required for redemption of this pass. $5
Daily Pass - Military/Veteran Admits the pass holder and occupants of a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to the park. Military service identification is required for redemption of this pass. Free
Senior Pass Valid for those 60 and older. Admits the pass holder to Downs Park, Fort Smallwood Park, Kinder Farm Park, and Quiet Waters Park. Proof of age will be required to redeem the pass at the Park's gatehouse. This is a lifetime pass and is non-transferable. $40

  • This pass is valid for one parking space at Downs Park.
  • Passes are not transferable.
  • Five miles of paved trails lead through the park’s vast natural preservation area. A 3.6-mile perimeter trail offers joggers and bicyclists a beautiful, shaded pathway, while a 1.5-mile network of interior trails is a naturalist’s delight. A pedestrian/biker overpass crosses Pinehurst Road, providing a safe road crossing for hikers and bikers as well as connecting the park’s eastern and western sections. A 1.8-mile Senior Exercise Trail follows the perimeter path south from the park’s visitor center. This cardiovascular fitness trail has 15 exercise stations.
  • Swimming and wading are strictly prohibited.
  • Alcohol is prohibited in the Park.
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times, except at the Dog Beach.
  • Picnic areas are on a first come, first serve basis. All grilling must be done in a picnic area. All groups over 20 persons are required to rent a pavilion/facility.
  • Restrooms are located in the main Visitor Center and a comfort station at the North end of the Park.
